The Problem With Bulky Freight (And Why a Tail-Lift Truck Fixes It) - 77 FREIGHT TRANSPORT

Bulky Freight Is a Headache

Too big for couriers. Too awkward for a standard van. Here’s what actually solves it.

Oversized freight sits in a frustrating gap: too big for standard couriers, too small (or too awkward) to justify a full semi-trailer. Add a delivery site with no loading dock, and suddenly something that should be straightforward becomes genuinely difficult.

It doesn’t have to be.

Where Bulky Freight Breaks Down

“We don’t carry that size”
Standard couriers cap out at parcel dimensions — your freight gets rejected at booking
No dock at the delivery site
Without a loading dock or forklift at the destination, the freight just sits on the truck
Multiple handling, multiple risk
Large items going through a depot network get handled by multiple strangers — each transfer is a damage risk
“Someone needs to be there to help”
When there’s no offloading equipment, the burden falls on whoever’s at the delivery end

The Tail-Lift Difference

A hydraulic tail-lift is a powered platform mounted to the rear of our 4.5-tonne truck. When the truck arrives, the platform lowers the freight from truck-bed height to ground level — safely, smoothly, and without needing a forklift, loading ramp, or extra staff at the delivery site.

What Our Tail-Lift Truck Can Handle

●  Commercial gym & fitness equipment

●  Industrial & trade machinery

●  Full pallets of wholesale stock

●  Retail display units & fixtures

●  Construction & building materials

●  Large furniture & fitout items

●  Medical & hospitality equipment

●  Oversized B2B deliveries of any kind

Standard Van vs Tail-Lift Truck

Situation Standard Van Tail-Lift Truck
Freight over 150kg ✗ Not suitable ✓ Yes
Delivery site has no loading dock ✗ Manual unload only ✓ Tail-lift handles it
Pallet-sized freight ✗ Won’t fit ✓ Yes
Awkward, non-stackable items ⚠ Depends on size ✓ Yes
Standard parcels & cartons ✓ Efficient choice ✓ Also fine
Important: The “4.5-tonne” in our truck description refers to Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) — the truck’s total legal weight including the vehicle itself. Actual cargo capacity (payload) is lower. We’ll confirm the right vehicle configuration when you submit your freight details.

What to Tell Us When You Book

✅ What the item is and approximately how heavy

✅ Whether the delivery site has a loading dock or forklift

✅ Pick-up and drop-off addresses, including any access notes

✅ Your delivery deadline — same-day, next morning, or specific window

✅ Whether the item needs to be placed inside a building or dropped at the entrance

“Bulky freight isn’t a problem — it’s a logistics puzzle. A tail-lift truck is almost always the missing piece.”

From a Brisbane Fitness Equipment Supplier

“Commercial treadmills to a gym with no dock and no elevator. The tail-lift got them off the truck, and the crew got them inside. Problem solved, no damage, no drama.”
